The internet is such a wonderful place that, if you are not in it already, you are really missing out. Sure, you heard it from Apple, Google, and the other search engine company empire that everyone now can simply go online and type what they are looking for in the search bar. Well, that part of it is true. But isn’t that what it was like ages ago? Are we really missing out so heavily, when in fact, it’s exactly like in the early days? Let us analyze this, and trust me, it works.
In the late 1800s and into the early 1900s, we lived in a world that many people call the Information Age. Everything was done with in the air and on paper, and the way information is electronically created and shared does not even come close to matching that of that time. An example of this is the fact that in the late 1800s and early 1900s, newspapers were the only information source for the citizens of the United States. It was the newspaper that spoke to the people about everything from the weather to where the advertisements were located.
Is it safe to assume that we have used the New York Times for all of our current news reads until this point? Of course not, and it is the same way with cell phones too.
The story might have a completely different ending if people had different ways to access news; and that is where the true innovation is, and that’s the key to success of anyone moving onto the internet. Think of the limitations that one might have to face today if they were old fashioned. Also, a perfect example that those brilliant minds that would come up with the idea that “how can I create a much more expansive suite of news channels/communication tools than I already have?”
Amazing how people missed this opportunity, and how other people just missed it altogether! Hmmm… as the story does not end there, we arrive on the internet, now for a hundred and one years we have watched the internet grow since inception, and has been recognized as the single most most important invention of all time, as has possibly been since the invention of the internet itself.
Is there any way at all that we can make this commercial revolution a happy one, and one that we can truly thank? “It’s not about me; it’s about you.” What a great old marketing ploy, and it is too many of us who either gave up the fight with “inability to check a credit card” or told the truth and listened to the children’s mantra, “it’s too much for me, it’s too much for me!” And then, when it wasn’t enough for us (either physically, mentally, or emotionally) the whole luring was total submission; and we ended up opting out.
But now as we consider the place of all things and all individuals that are included on the internet on a global level, that we must re-change the way we look at it, or we might as well be stuck there and climb into the next strata of history. If we mortgage our way to the top of this next place of the future, will those children come back to enough to actually do something to change? They will!!! Yes, yes, yes, it is up to us.
See you later, 508isa versa!!
